Camera Focus Problem
"Things to check
before returning the camera."
Question from Martha about a camera focus problem -
Love your site, my question is with my camera and
focusing. Its having trouble focusing so I was wondering what
possibilities would cause my Nikon d40x to have trouble focusing?
Do i need a new battery??
And it is about 4 yrs old and has been very reliable. |

Hi Martha,
Thanks for the compliment.
I don't know your camera personally but all digital cameras can very
occasionally go wrong. The first thing I would suggest is that you
reset the camera to its factory settings - the instruction manual
should tell you how to do this if you don't know already. Also, make
sure that the contacts between the camera and the lens are clean. Does
this problem apply to all your lenses or just one in particular?
If that doesn't correct the fault but the other functions are working,
I doubt it's a battery issue. You could try posting your question at
www.facebook.com/betterphotographs or at one of the Nikon forums.
Failing that, a Nikon dealer should be able to help.
Best wishes,
John
